I have a few places that need fiberglass repair around the coach. As I understand it, there is a white gel coat over the fiberglass, but will paint do fine over this? The areas with bare fiberglass (seen in the pictures) were underneath the decals that I had removed. Not sure if this was a factory repair or done sometime after and the decals replaced.
I'm down here at Rocky Point and was quote around $3k to have the fiberglass areas repaired and repainted. I guess it may be worth to some, but they're fairly minimal and I'd rather fix them, get it close to color and shine and then worry about FBP maybe next year or year after. The quote for FBP was $15k, which is about double what I had figured for work done down here. I have not talked to Antonio but may reach out if these prices seem unreasonable compared to what Antonio may offer. Others have also recommended Chuy but is not able to work in the park we are staying.
Also a full clean, buff, and wax was quoted at $3k which also seemed a bit high.
It's no problem painting over gel coat. I screwed up two nights ago and backing up cut a corner
to close. The snow was covering a ditch. I have a little more fixing than you and for now I will
just do the minimum as it is too cold for fiber glassing. For your job the painting is the big part.
Did you talk to Chuey or Antonio in Rocky Point? I'm not there looking at it but if you haven't already, give Antonio a chance to look at it.
Antonio did mine for $6500 FBP including numerous repairs. Looks great from 10' but has some spots. I'm happy!

I have not spoken to either of them but will likely reach out. We are staying at Concha Del Mar for the next month or so and have been told Chuey isn't allowed over here for whatever reason. It may be worth it to go somewhere else for a few days if it means some of this stuff can be done on the cheap. At this point, the least I'd like to get done is a buffing and wax to bring some life back to the gel coat. If the cracking around the exhaust is reasonable, that may also be something I'm willing to do. I'll reach out to Antonio today and see what he says.
Antonio repaired a small bruise on a bay door before he painted the coach. You could do well calling him.
I just got done fixing two doors on our motorhome, that had a deep scratches and a corner broke off. I used to do a lot of fiberglass work. And the best thing I found was PC – 11. It's a white product that hardens very hard. Then if you're halfway handy, get some gel coat in the color that matches your motorhome and a small airbrush and go to it and you're done. I did fix the door several years ago that Gets used all the time. It broke off the hinges it was my own fault, but it happened. I used the same PC – 11 to get all the cracks and broken pieces fixed and what I did is I put a 1/8 inch by half inch piece of aluminum behind the top of the door in the back and it worked very well. After looking at it closer, you may have to put some resin and cloth in to fill the areas. But if you take your time, it is not hard to do. If you need verbal help just call me at 605-769-1050 Randy
Spoke to Antonio today. Much better price for what I want done on our coach. He is working on a FT in his shop currently and wants me to come out on Monday to see it. I'd be curious to know who it is getting their work done in the shop.

We had Antonio do out body work and full-body paint last year. Delighted with the result and he stands behind his work. Rather than stay in the coach while the work was being done at his shop, we elected to stay in an condo.
If you want to go that route, check with Edgar if you are going to be at Conche del Mar, he can probably refer you to reasonably priced accommodations. Also, if you don't mind staying in town, Alfredo as Mr. Pargo (on Constitution at No Reeleccion) has a sweet little apartment for rent.
