Since inquiring on the forum recently I discovered two basement heat exchangers, one by the water pump and another in the sewage bay by the pipes exiting the black and grey tanks. I have been wondering how these TWO heat exchangers could possibly heat the entire basement areas even with the multiple vents throughout. Is there a third exchanger that I have not discovered that is in the basement??
On another note, the thermostat sensor for the basement heat is located behind one of the carpeted panels in the water pump bay BUT very close to the heat exchanger. Just guessing, but would not that mean the heat would shut off prior to the rest of the bays and areas reaching proper temperature?? Seems to me the temp sensor should be farther away from the actual exchanger and fan
I haven't had any problem with the heat and yes there is only 2 heat exchangers. You can put
the senor an where you want it. I think you are right I have mover the senor right by the floor.
I too stretched the thermostat sensor bulb down to the bay floor by the pump. Stays toasty in the wet bays. Heat passively circulates between the Aquahot bay up front and the rear wet bay heat exchangers through grills on the driver side between the bays. Also, there's some radiant heat from the hoses in the bay ceiling...design is adequate and has kept my middle bays from freezing...tested to -5F. If concerned you could add 12v muffin fans to the passive registers I guess.
