Title: 93 GV Fridge
Post by: leejrfla on January 31, 2023, 06:12:25 pm
I have a very strong ammonia smell that has over taken my barn.  Investigating its coming from the fridge in the coach which I replaced when we purchased the coach 8 years ago ugh...... I am guessing it's toast?  The carbon monoxide alarm was going off and the fridge power also was off (lights were out on the display). I would like some input on those who have replaced their GV fridge with a residential one model etc. and what's involved.

What small residential fridge fits through the door? (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=35435.msg333068#new)
This may help .

The fridge you choose will mean you have to rework the floor under the fridge as it's not flat with yours if it's like our '93 U300. I put in a Norcold that had a flat bottom like a residential fridge. The OEM RV fridge will easily go out the door with one other person to help. Unless you plan on modifying the width of the compartment, any residential will fit through the door. Once the floor of the compartment has been modified, the height can be easily worked with. As I remember, I just added a matching wood piece to finish the original look.
