Title: Another clearance light question
Post by: Charlieboise on March 05, 2023, 07:59:00 pm
I just removed the clearance lights from the rear and they have obviously been leaking.  Ordered new front and back.

I have read on this forum about what sealant to use.  I do not want to use silicone due to the  implications of renewing that application.

I am also concerned about getting the lights back out at some point down the road when it's time to reseal them. There is not a lot of clearance between the lens and the inset of the coach.

Is there a none silicone sealant like geocell that folks would recommend for my lights ?

I use 3M 4000UV for a variety of uses—including sealing my clearance and identification lights. I'm very well pleased with the results.

I use the 4000 on my boats for above the water line applications with very good success.

Have you had to remove anything you sealed with it ?

It is supposed to be be removable but I haven't yet needed to remove anything that I've sealed with it.
