We have a 1999 U320 and came home to a leaking Aquahot - my electrician husband took out the AH yesterday and found the leak is coming from the copper tubing that wraps around the boiler. We've also had several issues with the AH the last few years and have replaced parts every year.
We are talking to IRT about a Chinook Oasis ($7,500 and pick up today) and a certified AH tech about sending in our unit for reman (~$10k and a month of time).
We are aware that the Chinook is dual loop where AH has 3 and we'd need to add a T and we're aware the Chinook's use negative switching and it added relays are added.
Does any have any thoughts or experience on which way to go?
Ideally, sooner and cheaper works best and my husband can install, just want to make sure everything will fit and work.
TIA

There are links here about rewrapping the copper.. If you have it out and he is handy it can be done pretty easily

We have a spare 431/12 sitting in our garage in Sturgis that came out of a totaled coach from the Denver area. It was included with our coach when we purchased it last year and has been sitting in the garage. We are planning on keeping the burner, but the rest is available. Sent you a message CimarronRose.
The coils on my unit were burst when I bought my coach also. I removed the AH, disassembled, removed the coils, re-insulated and reinstalled the AH. I then added a 10 gallon electric/indirect fired water heater. I installed another pump circuit on the AH to feed the heat exchanger in the new water heater. I heat water with electric or the AH as needed.
