I am the third owner of this coach and I believe the previous owners replaced the original toilet, but I do not know what brand of toilet I now have. The toilet was working fine all day, but now that we are stopped for the night (boondocking), no water is coming into the toilet bowl when the peddle is held down, nor any water comes out of the sprayer. The peddle has a round mechanism that has a cover on it I can take off. Checked the fittings and everything is tight.
I do have water from both the kitchen faucet and the bathroom faucet, and yes I have water in the tank and the water pump works! Any idea as to how to trouble shoot the problem? Thank you for your help.
Do you see water running behind it when pressing down on the petal?
Thanks turbojack. No water behind toilet when pressing down on pedal.
If you have the toilet that I think you have. There is a simple water valve that the foot pedal opens. The cover around the lower part comes off fairly easily. It has clips in the back and you pull off. You can see valve and how foot petal opens it. Is something broken keeping the valve from opening? If all looks good, with water off unscrew water line. Turn water on and see it you have water coming out?
Again my thanks turbojack; you're right about the kind of toilet I have. I took the cover off and, as far as I can tell, the valve is working correctly. I can't get the water lines off right now so will have to try later when I can get to better tools. Appreciate your help.
Could someone have turned off the manabloc valve to the toilet as an April Fools joke? >:D
You said you checked the valve operation like turbojack mentioned, but the valve itself could be plugged and not letting water enter. Also, the valve on the supply line could be bad and doing the same thing. I have seen calcium completely plug a 3/4 inch pipe in my plumbing days. Does the pedal on the commode need to be pushed down to allow water out of the sprayer? I would think not, as it normally is just hooked to the water line and water is at the ready for use without the pedal. Just thinking out loud........
This is the water valve I had in my 1997 U295. Since we have no idea what is in this coach not sure the same or not. Valve was simple. Only problems I had with them is they would start leaking after a few years.
UPDATE: Problem fixed! On my 2009 Nimbus, in the bay with the water manifold, there is a psi regulator just for the toilet. It is placed inline to the right of the manifold block (look for the orange circle) and was easy to replace. It had gone bad. Gotta love simple solutions!
Who ever added that did a professional looking job. Not sure why added that.
