The shaft has broken off three times and now it is two short to get the snap ring on. I could
probably make it work but I would like to get a new control arm. I will try Foretravel tomorrow
or Tuesday and see it they have them. If not does anyone know who sells them.
I bought one at FT 3 years ago.
I got my parts from Foretravel. Brad sent me a diagram to choose parts from.
Thanks, it looks like I need #3
I tried to take it apart but mine looks like I have to get the whole thing. I will order it tomorrow.
Foretravel hasn't any parts and the manufacture has quit making that part so I will try and find
a swivel that will fit and cut the arm and cut my arm and weld it together.
There are a few Foretravels at Visone
Peter can you take a picture of the finished project to help us do the same without trial and error?
Right now I will see if I can find a second hand one, Chuck. It looks complicated to find the right swivel
so if I will keep posting which everyway I go.
Did you take a look at this site? Wiper Linkage Parts For School Buses (http://www.busparts.com/wipers-linkage.html)
No matter what you are likely to have to do some fabrication.
Where can you get the wiper motor?
Chris
So you got me searching. I found Wiper Technologies now owned by Global Products, they even list Foretravel models in their Application Guide document. Its unclear if they only make wipers now or the full assemblies. Try giving them a call. A Monaco forum mentioned them being helpful on parts replacements.
Global Products LLC | (http://www.globalproducts.llc/)
Brad sent me the company they got them from, Parts Vendors Texas who I will call tomorrow.
Peter can we just make a new shaft to replace the old one. Drill rod stock is good stuff.
Scott
Visone doesn't have any and I I called Busparts and will see what he can come up with.
Scott there would be quite a bit of machining to do. If busparts can't help I will put it back
together and see how long it lasts. I did a better job of welding this time.
Chuck I never found the shaft part so I ground the weld out down to the shaft and then I welded it
vertical so I would get better pentation and I have it back together and it is working solid now so I
will see how long it lasts. I broke part of the wiper arm and Glen Cornman set me parts so thanks
Glen. At least it's the passengers side and it will work without hurting any thing.
