Title: Three Questions [help with bay locks, fridge temp, and leveling control]
Post by: rclark on May 17, 2023, 06:11:21 am
I need some help on a few problems;

1) I need the part number on the bay lock/unlock solenoid and where can i get them?

2) I have a Dometic model NDR 1282 fridge. I can't adjust the temperature with the buttons. How does
the control section come out of the unit?

3) Sometimes HWH leveling system doesn't stay in the on position (light) stay on when the ignition key is turned off. The coach still stays level but when I turn the ignition key on it is in travel mode before the air has built up. Is this a problem?

Thanks for any help
Ron

I do not think they make the original bay actuators any longer. You can call FT and see what they way.  As to the fridge there should be a slider on the fins to move up or down for temps. And yes it will go into travel as soon as you build enough air even if it is not perfectly level yet. You just need to wait a few seconds before pulling out.

Ron, for the Lock Solenoid, are you talking about the remote locks ? If so, any generic will work.  This is what I have used for a few of my doors. Not an exact fit, but was easy to adapt.

I would suggest extending that "wait" time a few more seconds (if necessary)...until you hear the air dryer purge.  Then you know you are at travel height, and you have full braking capability.

At least that's the way I was taught by some experienced owners.

But as always, DWMYH

I need to clear up my question on HWH. While level with engine off the ON red light sometimes goes off on the panel like the system goes off and other times the light stays on the whole time I am set up. Is this a problem that needs to be addressed?
I know about waiting till the air builds up. I even check each wheel clearance before moving.
Thanks for the info everyone.

Are you talking about when you have the HWH system set in Auto Level?  With the ignition key off and parking brake set, if you turn the HWH panel ON and then turn on the auto level mode, the red ON panel light should be illuminated.  It should stay illuminated  as long as you leave the system in auto level mode.  If you turn the ignition key to ON then the red HWH ON light will go out, and as John S said the travel light will come on if there is sufficient pressure in the air tanks (usually around 60-70 psi).  As you know, this does not mean the coach is at ride height.

If your system is set in auto level mode and the red HWH ON light goes on and off at random times, then you might have a intermittent power supply problem at the HWH panel power connector.  You could try unplugging the connector behind the touch pad, make sure there are no bent or damaged pins, then plug it back in.  See if that helps.

I think your last sentence is where my problem is going to be. It has tape looks like it is holding the plug to the board. I may need to find a new plug and replace it. Need a new one before I mess with it. I am camping and don't need to be shut down.
Thanks for the help.

Ron, check out Northwest RV Supply.  I just get a new key pad from them.  They have a lot of HWH parts if needed.
