Foretravel parts said it's a 21 " sucker fan that goes on my 2000-320-42. BUT- no stock and no production. Has anyone run into this situation?
As rare a failure rate of the fan, there is sure to be some at the wrecking yards that have been mentioned on the Forum
I did the next best thing and contacted Keith
Ernie, if Keith can't help, try Used RV Parts And Used RV Accessories | Visone RV Monaco Parts Dealer... (http://www.visonerv.com)
Find an old school radiator shop in your area that works on class 8 truck radiators. He will have a fan book that will show bolt patterns, dimensions, and pitch. You might could just take the other one off and tell the fellow you need another one like this.

After 3 weeks of moving into our new home, we will be tackling this fan project. Has anyone removed or replaced their radiator fan in a 320- 42 foot coach? I wonder if the radiator must be removed to access?
I injured myself during this move and a mechanic friend is going to help me. Any wisdom that you can share we would appreciate it.
The fan and motor assembly can be removed under the coach without removing the radiator.

Thank you
I did my fan seals two years ago and took the fans out the bottom and service the trans
cooler and hung the cooler from the frame at the same time. While you have the fans
out it would be a good idea to change the motor seals as they are cheep and only take
a few minutes to change.
Peter, do you have a source for the seals?
One of mine has seapage.
I got mine from a local seal shop and I'm away now on Vancouver Island now and when I
get home I will see if I can find the numbers for you but they are a common seal. You will
have to drop the hydraulic oil so a good time the change the hydraulic filters. I will be home
Thursday.
I also removed the fans and fan motors from the bottom. I had to drain the radiator as the bottom radiator tube did need to be removed.
These were the seals I used from McMaster Carr.

Also, you can get some plastic caps and plugs to cap off the lines being removed. You can do this and loose very little hydraulic fluid.
Make sure you careful to not get dirt or grime into the hydraulic lines while working.
You can get them at NAPA.

Another Radiator Fan Motor Seal Replacement (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=40356.msg400180#msg400180)
Sorry to hear that, Ernie. Hope you're doing better soon.
I have a friend who is a mechanic here to help. Has anyone had to replace their radiator fan? Or am I the chosen one.
We've been watching Texas heat on the news so take it really easy and let your mechanic friend do all the heavy stuff!!
Pierce
Well, he's 81 and believes this project is too much for him.
It seems we can't locate a fan. This is turning into a problem
Ernie,
I stumbled upon this sight, I don't know if they will part with a fan but you might try them.

It is a wrecked 2002 with a tag.
Good luck!

Looks like if you have a 2000 era coach and the radiator fan falls apart- you might as well start parting the coach out, as there are none to be had. I never thought I would hit a dead end like this.
Found some 19 inch on the Flexilite site, may be worth a try.
what about the fan on Rudy's coach?
Exactly what is wrong? I when back and readied the thread and people have offered options but we have not heard the results of any of them. I think the only thing we know is you have some seals leaking. Are you needing a new 21 " sucker fan and if so why, what happened to the one that was there?
It disintegrated
You might give Horton a call Engine Cooling Systems, Drives, Clutches and Fans - Horton (https://www.hortonww.com/)
Agree with T jack, harder to help with no feedback.
It came apart from the hub mounting bracket. The fan as laying beside the radiator. Tried to source from Foretravel, MOT, TO NO AVAIL. NO HELP FROM THEM SOURCING AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE. That, sir, is a resul, if you want to call it that.
In regards to Rudy's bus- would be almost impossible to salvage it.

First search what are the differences between these? Or is this what you need?
I went to the website and there was no photo of what they are selling

As always Google is your Friend. There are lots of sources out there, but you need the "hub" details.
Here's a site in Australia with lots of photographs.
Cooling / Fan Metal Products - National Auto Parts Depot (https://www.naparts.com.au/collection/cooling/fan-metal)
Finally got all the pieces off
I contacted Superior turbo in Detroit. Sent them photos with measurements. From their perspective they had stock. I ordered 2. Will be here next week. I will post an update if the new ones are like the original. I'm cautiously optimistic.
To my eyes, that seems like a surprising amount of corrosion and/or decomposition of the metal fan bolt plate...especially on a 2000 year model coach. I wonder what could have caused it?
We had to beat that plate off the hub. Since owning this coach for 2+ years, kinda hard to know where Roger Berke went. I know I saw him a Quartzite a dozen years ago with this coach
Two disimilar metals making contact and moisture,a coating of anti seize between the 2 will help,if coach was driven on a salty
road it added to the corrosion, worked on offshore platforms for years,we put anti seize on every nut and bolt.
Ernie Im assuming that the hub is still installed on motor shaft. Those motors are time limited for shaft leakage and being you're so close I would hate to see anyone pass on changing the old seals out. Im not saying to rebuild them, just replace the two seals. One seal on each motor but that requires having the hub off the shaft with adequate access to the motor shaft end. Think I'll try and inspect my fan hubs this week before we go to BITD race next month. Got my fingers crossed you got the right fans. Curiously how many miles on your coach?
Scott
Sorry Ernie I forgot to look for the seal numbers between trips so here they are
20 30 7 AS Take in one of your old seals to make sure.
Ernie contact Josh Harsany at Superior Turbo he can build you a fan. 313-842-4616 Ext 721 Mine broke a fan blade off last year and it went thru the radiator I sent him all the measurements and he made a fan for my coach. I contacted Foretravel and they were no help at all.
230,000 miles on coach.
Superior turbo fans arrived last night. I contacted a local mechanic to do the install. He will be here next week. My job is to drain the radiator so we can remove whatever that large pipe is restricting the fan to be mounted.
So the fans match?
Don't forget anti-seize on all nuts and bolts plus I would paint all bare metal and /or partialy rusted metal in that area.
Before draining the coolant, VERIFY that the "pipe" is not to the CAC. If it is, it only contains air!
Yes, if the pipe goes to the radiator itself, and needs to be removed, you will need to drain coolant. Depending on coolant age and condition, may be a reasonable time to change the coolant as well.
Sounds like he is referring to the transmission cooler. I know that's in the way on my coach to access the fans/fan motors.
Maybe, but can't picture a "pipe" from transmission to the transmission cooler.
But, easy to verify exactly what it is by where it connects to.
When it's only 85 in the early morning, I'll take a photo of the pipe in question.
The trans cooler needs to be moved out of the way so the rad needs draining.
For the win. A 10 blade fan replaced the 6 blade. The mechanic was able to install the fan without completely removing the transmission cooler. He was able to move that about 3/4 inch. I started the coach and he put up a piece of construction paper on the outside. The fan sucks a lot of air.
Now, it looks like we are back in business. I have to order a new air conditioner as a tree limb impaled the old one.
It's only money.
Thanks, everyone for all your help. Send cash—
Congrats on getting the fan situation resolved.
Here are a couple photos that show some numbers from Superior Turbo.
The original fan had zero markings and the factory was no help. They said they couldn't get one cause of kovid- baloney.
Thanks to a good friend from my Wanderlodge family that steered me to this company. They make any kind of fan.
After the installation of the superior turbo fan, I see a huge improvement on the volume of air vs the original fan.
I searched the numbers you posted and was unable to locate a link to post.
Please Please Please post the contact information on your invoice and the build information so as anyone can call and get a duplicate.
Thanks Scott
So a huge increase in air flow over the original fan? Wonder if it is at a different pitch? A greater pitch will move more air but at a cost of additional fuel to turn it. Did you replace both fans or just the one?
I just replaced the aft fan and left the forward fan. The only numbers are the ones I posted in the photos above. I sent them measurements and pictures of the old fan. The new one has 10 blades. The pitch is the same as the old fan.
I don't care about fuel mileage.
Erniee could you post a phone number and invoice number and date. Ill call them and get the part build information too post here for the rest of Your Foretravel owner friends so everyone can purchase from them in the future, so glad you were able to put this chapter behind you.
Invoice
Let me be the first to say that looks like a smokin good deal on that fan.
Yes, and I bought 2- made in the USA
Thanks for all of Ernies footwork we now have a reliable source for replacement radiator fans on our coaches.
Superior Turbo & injection 3745 Central Detroit Michigan 48210
313-203-3700
P/N ACS449200-21
If you search this number on the WEB nothing comes up. I personally called and verified this number does exist and can be ordered in the future.
Again thank you Ernie for finding a source.
These are not IMO expensive and I would recommend replacement in sets.
I have not seen these in person and this is the extent of my knowledge about them. I only write this to allow someone else down the road an easy way to find them.
Drove the coach today for a few miles since having the new radiator fan installed. Everything went well and new fan kept things cool.
Great to hear. Glad you didnt sell it for scrap.
And you found a source for the rest of us 👍👍
