Is there a trick to removing the front passenger seat? I need to repair the footrest (does not go out and in) and had heard removal could be accomplished without removing the entire seat from the floor (bolts under coach)
Can any one advise and explain?
Peter, the chair can be removed from the base, but it will require getting down on your stomach and find those bolts. I believe there are 4 and 11/16 comes to. mind, but don't hold me too that. I have had mine off before, but that was past yesterday and well, you know, old age. You will have to unplug the cord, which is easy and just take your time and look around for those bolts and nuts. Spray the moving parts with silicone spray to keep things moving. Good luck!
I am not any help to you on your question but please share more information on this repair being I need to do this too. I also have a problem with the swivel piece, it has lost many of the ball bearing and now the chair rocks a bit.
Ok- there are 4- 1/2 inch nuts that hold the chair to the platform. After you remove that, detach electric and the swivel cable and then, with a helper, lift straight up.
You might be able to get the ring that the ball bearings reside in from a salvage yard. The only way they can come out- someone installed it not in the correct spot
Peter I took the footrest motor and screw out without removing chair, again you have to get under the chair, I raised the chair all the way up and was able to get under it. The grease had hardened in the motor and it would not work. I washes it out with penetrating oil until it was operating freely then I applied new grease
That was a year ago and so far it is still working
