Does somebody know the actual reason for the vented engine compartment on the U320?
Im confident it's heat related, just curious about the actual back story if there is one.

I would think that as a back vent like that is in a low pressure area, it would give the radiator fans (when on) a good exit path. And might provide a way for heat soak to escape when one stops.
If you can post a pic.
He is talking about the grill in the rear hatch that opens.
Like you said in your original post..... give heat a place to escape. I don't know how a Prevost stays cool enough without it. True a typical bus chassis radiator like a Prevost is much larger than a unicoach has but still With a fan that draws air instead of blow air, makes me wonder where the heat goes. I have a friend with a 2002 Prevost with a 550 hp series 60, I will ask his opinion.. You didn't ask about a Prevost, you just got my mind to wandering. Heat escape is the reason for a Unicoach rear hatch.
