Has anyone found a nice propane RV oven/stove that they like? I had a Furrion in my 5th wheel and was NOT impressed by it at all. The oven didn't get hot enough to be useful or come even close the maintaining the stated temp.
What's wrong with the one in the coach ?
I'm happy with the Magic Chef that came in my U225 but I liked the Magic Chef that came in my 1981 Foretravel a little better because the oven was a bit bigger. I use the cooktop regularly but about the only thing I cook in the oven is a turkey. I could bake a 20 pounder in my 1981 but can only get an 8 to 10 pounder into the one I have now.
* I've had bad luck cooking pizza in the Magic Chefs so I bought a cheap electric counter top pizza oven on ebay and am very happy with that.
I agree with Slim, I don't know how one could work any better. What's in your GV now Elliot?
Elliott; we don't miss the oven in our coach. The convection/microwave does a great job and with DW baking cookies, cakes and biscuits, I have no complaints! Takes up less space and with the new ones out on the market today, the advances are really nice. Mine even has the ability to Air Fry as well.
Thanks all, the old stove/oven is long gone. It was really beat up. We're talking about putting in just a cook-top now. My wife seems open to that idea and I'm not sure we'd miss it. Probably just a two-burner cooktop to give us back more counter space. We will still have a standalone crockpot and air fryer, so there isn't a whole lot we need an oven for these days. It'd probably be different if we were full timing but for a few months at a time, meh, we probably won't even notice it's absence.
If that existing OTC oven is a standard household 30" microwave and on a dedicated 20 amp circuit, there are quite a few convection microwave alternatives you might consider. Foretravel used the Sharp 18xx series (xx being the door color code), other manufacturers have used Whirlpool and Samsung. The 120 VAC version of the GE Advantium is also an option (and holds a 9x13 pan so you can make lasagna or a sheet cake).
