Well the old 96 dash fan-heater-fresh air blower motor is starting to squeal. Anyone know off hand, what the replacement motor is and how tough to get to it.
Thanks
Consider lubricating motor, maybe with a Dial Zoom Spout Oiler.
Not sure if yours is the same as my 92, mine is from a First gen Chevrolet Astro.

This fits a 95 U280
Evap blower NAPA # BK_6551744
I believe it's the same as a 94 Chevy pickup.
Ya just switch it out. Just replaced ours and it's the same as a Chevy truck. Comes out easy once you get access to it.
Any difference in noise or airflo?
Mine was the same, noise level wise. New one should last 10 hopefully 20.
I was able to shift the air conditioning evaporator just enough to get the motor out of the top left corner without disconnecting the Freon lines on my '95 U320.
I also took a small common screw driver to clean the old dry dirt out of each squirrel cage vane to get the aerodynamic shape back.
Ran smooth and good airflow.
Has anyone pulled the dash fan on a 2001 vintage? Fully understand dash pad/front removal.
Ours has started squealing as well. Mainly only when the Aquahot is using it, not so when being used for regular venting or dash ac usage. Planning it as one of my winter projects....Thanks.
Doesn't Aquahot use easily replaceable computer muffin fans that are separate from dash blower motor. Posting indicates that the muffin fan is making noise.
Think he's referring to the squirrel cage dash fan.
I am referring to the large fan that moves a fair amount of air. I assume there is only "1" fan in the dash that is used for heat and air when the coach is running, but when the Aquahot heat is on this fan also runs...The amount of air coming out of the vents leads me to believe its not a muffin as the volume of air is much more than any muffin would move, but it may be a unique such....when it makes the noise at startup for a few minutes, I can actually bump on the dash in the area of the 2 center vents and sometimes make it be quiet, which makes me think the fan is rubbing something vs a bearing failure. If this fan is a GM or Ford type squirrel cage, then probably only a bushing'd fan. Just wondering has anyone one ever been into this area and what all it takes to pull that fan.
I believe Roger did a post on this some time back. You might be able to find it if you search his post.

He showed how to put a switch in the fan motor relay to cut it off when you didn't want heat going to the windshield.
Someone just posted a few days ago on how to remove the dash to replace an A/C valve.
Does it make noise on defrost.
I'll search Rogers post.
I already know how to remove my dash, im wanting to know about just the fan
It only makes the noise when during the aquahot usage. Defrost not noticed. Why only during AH that's what I'm trying to figure out
Again, I thought Aquahot dash heat is from a separate fan behind a heat exchanger that is flowing hot AH water, which is separate from dash A/C-engine heat larger blower.
I will look for that also when I get in there......but hoping someone could tell me for sure what to look for....I dont want to tear out any more of the dash than I have to, if all I have to do is gain room to some sort of access door, or plate....Ive been in that area many times, but never in search of the Blower OR blowers.
