Post by: oldguy on July 16, 2023, 01:22:02 pm
My AC tension pulley has come apart. Could someone send me the diameter of the pully

Peter,
My idler pulley has an outer diameter of only 3 1/8 inches and an outer width of 3/4 inches.  I don't know why mine is different than the Craneman.  Also, no part number.

Still 3 3/4" bearing outside dia. 1 1/2 mine would spin slower and add life to the bearing. With all the adjustment of the idler any pulley with the same size center hole of the bearing should work between 3 and 5 inch.

I found a 31/8 shive but I had to put the bearing in from my old shive to make it work. The
bearing is a 6203. This shive is smaller than my old on was. I think Chuck's 33/4 is spot on.
I think I should have gone to a bearing shop and see if they could have had something.
At least I have an AC again and it is necessary this summer.
