I have used 2 different brands of TPMS systems and have not been real happy with either one. so I thought I would submit a survey to this good group of people before I hunt for another brand!
1. WHAT BRAND OF TPMS DO YOU USE
2.HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED IT
3. DO YOU USE A BOOSTER TO INCREASE RANGE FOR TOWED
4.DOES YOUR SYSTEM DROP TIRE SIGNALS WHEN TRAVELING
5.HAVE YOU HAD TROUBLE WITH TIRE MONITORS THAT QUIT WORKING
6. HOW OFTEN DO YOU CHANGE BATTERIES IN TIRE MONITORS
I think this simple survey will not only assist me but will assist others in their search for a good system
Thanks in advance
Chris
Good Survey Chris.
1. Tire minder i10
2. About 2 years
3. Booster installed (inside rear overhead cabinet, powered with the camera)
4. No dropped signal that I recall, it did save a rear tire on our toad once.
5. Haven't yet but it will eventually, they take a beating.
6. Waiting on one to quit reporting, as soon as that happens the battery and gasket will be replaced in all of them.
Ours will alarm when tire pressures are coming up after we start rolling. Lets me know things are working.
Pretty happy with it.
1. Tire MInder i10
2.. 16 months
3. I used the included extender
4. Occasional slow update on tire pressure or temp
5. No monitors have quit working, but have had a weird error that showed the temp above 200. This occurred instantaneously and figured it was an error. Pulled over, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and it fixed the issue.
6. Haven't changed the batteries yet, but they include 10 extra batteries and if I recall, they will provide batteries for free.
I've used two different models. These do seem to work better than my previous Amazon model that was used on the trailer. The battery in the monitor does not last long but the unit can be turned off between trips and charged if you don't have access to USB power.
1. PressurePro
2. 11 years
3. Booster - yes
4. Drop sensors - on towed, yes, as batteries get older
5. Stop working - one sensor early life fail that gave crazy readings and alarms
6. Can't change batteries. Have to buy new sensors at $45-50/each every 5 years.
Good survey - we'll be in the market for a new system when we get the next coach. We need 10 new sensors, which is pretty much the price of a whole system.
1- I was using Tire Minder but switched to TST
2- 4 years
3- Booster Installed in engine compartment
4- No more dropped signals
5- No
6- I've changed the batteries once in the four years. The old batteries still tested good.
1- TST
2- 2 years
3- Booster Installed in engine compartment
4- No more dropped signals
5- No
6- Haven't changed them yet
1 - TireMinder A1As on 8 coach tires and 4 trailer tires
2 - 2+ years
3 - Booster included, installed under bed
4 - Have seen it drop signal once or twice, but have determined this was due to low battery. Replaced batteries, no more issues.
5 - No
6 - They say to do it every year. They ever provide a 2nd set. Being the miser I am, I have not. See #4 above...this was why. 10 of the 12 senders are still on the original battery after 2+ years.
TST my 2nd one updated 3 years ago
June 2018
Booster installed with newest model
No dropped signals since newest model
Yes first model of tst
Change the batteries about every 2 years maybe?
Interesting to note that yesterday when doing a routine check on my tires I found that my left rear duals were down to 50 lb. I've been parked and so I had my tire pressure monitor stored. Probably not a good idea to do that anymore and keep it on. I found that one of my TST flow through sensors was leaking internally. Luckily I had a spare. The way I found it was I was cleaning something and used to hose to rinse some of the dirt off the rim install air leaking out around the cap. I don't usually make a routine check on my tires when I'm parked. Guess I'll have to leave the tire pressure monitor on. I don't like to do it because when it gets cold out my tires in the Jeep tend to burp air and then the alarm goes off but it's better than finding your coach sitting on the rim and now you have to get somebody to reset your tire bead...
The first TST monitor that came with the coach was difficult to read. It dropped the signals all the time but it didn't have the booster and it was an older model.
If you're going to be monitoring tire pressures in the toad the booster I think is pretty important. I put mine in the driver's side wet Bay.
Tire minder 8 years older model than available now. The only negative issue I have is I changed the power supply to the booster from full time to ignition switched. I have to turn the key on to read the towed. An inconvenience as when setting up to leave the door has to be open to keep the step from cycling open and closed. I will put it back to full time after our trips this year. Batteries cost $5.00 for all 10 sensors and come with O rings same with sensor caps when they age out. Newer TPS's have more features and I might check them out at the tent while at the Q in Jan.
I had a tire minder that used a cell phone for a monitor and the booster quit and I was getting a
drop signals. I needed a new booster and as it wasn't much more I bought a new system with out
sensors. The new system seems to work fine.
1. EEZTire TPMS10 (non-flow through sensors)
2. Purchased on Amazon July 21, 2017 for $449
3. No
4. No
5. I've had one sensor (out of 10) fail in the 6 years since purchase - zero problems with the monitor.
6. Replaced sensor batteries twice in 6 years (last time was last year), so about every 2.5 years?
7. Will read current pressure & temp anytime - does not require coach to be moving.
Note: I leave 6 sensors installed on the coach all the time (24/7/365). I turn the monitor on in the coach once a week to check tire pressures then turn it back off. I remove the 4 monitors from the towd and store them in the coach unless we are actually traveling.

TST
4years
Booster installed by bedroom clock , although I've forgotten to turn it on a few times and it still reads the jeep.
Dropped signal a few times
Batteries once per year just cause.
TST has saved me a tire. Mechanic loosened a tire extender and inside dual was flat.
As an additional question -
I've read (on the Internet, so it must be true ;) ) that some TPMS monitors don't "wake up and refresh" the pressure reading until there is wheel rotation. Not sure if that means they don't display pressures at all until you move, or if it means the display is "last known" pressure until there is movement of a certain distance.
Our PressurePro (the original, not the newer Pulse or the app-based version) doesn't require movement and will show current pressures without driving.
So for your model, do you know if it requires movement to display current readings?
EEZ TPMS. Been very happy with it.
TPMS (E618) - Tire Pressure & Temperature Monitoring Systems w/Color Monitor (https://eezrvproducts.com/shop/ols/categories/tire-pressure-monitoring-system-tpms)
1.TST 507, 10 sensors kit
2. 2+ years
3. Yes mounted in basement, powers up when engine is running.
4. NO, but when it has not been used in a while, take about 20 minutes to pick up all sensors, I try to use it in my toad which is now my daily driver, that way it gets used more often.
5. NO not quitting, but have had one or two occasions of a sensor dropping 1 or two cycles then coming back.
6. 2 years so far none.
Downside to this system, the monitor is a very DIM type of display even when plugged into power. Ok as long as in a non direct lighting place. Otherwise works great.
Tireminder A1As shows last known when powered up with no rotation after 30 mins or some such amount of time. To get an updated read, just press 2 buttons and it will query all of the sensors.
Pressure Pro Pulse, no problems, can display all tire pressure on one screen anytime day or night, rolling or parked. Used on all coach & tow vehicle (10-tires). Did install repeater under fridge.
On the tire minder you push the center and right buttons simultaneously for 5 sec. Then when it reloads it shows current pressure and temp.
1. I tried 2 other brands before I went with the Pressure Pro and I'm very happy With it.
2. 4 years
3. No Booster (40 foot coach, don't use them on the towed).
4. No drops
5. Did not like previous brands that we tried. They constantly had issues, drops, ate batteries, leaked, etc. No issues at all with Pressure Pro.
6. Batteries are not replaceable with Pressure Pro, you replace the sensor. I went 4 years before I replaced them.
Edited to add: The two I was not happy with and replaced were TST and Tire Minder.
Pressure pro 10 years no problems, new sensors 5 years ago.
1. WHAT BRAND OF TPMS DO YOU USE
TST 507 with cap sensors
2.HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED IT
Edit: bought it 10/28/2020 - so three years

Nope
5.HAVE YOU HAD TROUBLE WITH TIRE MONITORS THAT QUIT WORKING
No
6. HOW OFTEN DO YOU CHANGE BATTERIES IN TIRE MONITORS
Haven't yet, but have batteries on hand as it will likely happen soon
** shows current pressures without driving. No tire movement needed, can read it anytime.
We previously had a old version of Pressure Pro. Like this one better.
1. TST with non flow thru caps. 8 on the coach and 4 on the jeep
2. 5 years
3. Yes, the kit I bought came with a booster for the back of the coach
4. haven't noticed if it did

Rich
Ford vs Chevy again LOL
1. TST
2. 3 years
3. Booster supplied with kit installed in start battery compartment.
4. Never.
5. No.
6. Changed earlier this year after 2+ years of use. Manufacturer recommends changing annually, but that seems like overkill.
1. Tire Minder with IPhone app
2. Five years
3. Booster at chassis batteries
4. Various troubles, leaking, sudden high pressure, stop working all together
6. Change batteries annually
I am tired of messing with them and thinking of not using them at all.
Yes it might be overkill but it does motivate me to inspect things closer and batteries are cheap compared to tires.
Thanks All for the input--as phranko says ford vs chevy but at least we can get an idea and narrow down the possibilities
Do you change sensors about every 5 yr or do you just change batteries every year or 2
Everyone can decide what is best for their needs or wants!!!
Thanks Again
Chris
