I've got a leaking ball valve and would like to replace with the same brand/model if they are still available. Anyone know what these are?
Called the mothership this morning and they say they are using Viega valves now. #46021. It doesn't appear to be the same as what was used previously. I guess looks are secondary, but does anyone know the brand/model of these old valves and if they are still in production?
Just looked at mine and all I could see was the word "Italy". Short of removing one from the system to see what's on the other side that's all I could find. Did not FOT know what they used before they changed valves? You would think they would have a record of that.
Not sure "replace with the same" is critical.
A ball valve (yes, there are quality and "not so quality" ones) are pretty universal.
Depends on the size and how they attach to plumbing.
Would be quite surprised if a box store or more likely a plumbing house could not get you a quality replacement.
Look at supplyhouse.com,all the pex vales you could want,if the handle would be in the way, take it off and use a wrench to open/close.
For sure there are other options...just my OCD that doesn't want one oddball in the batch. Plus, it needs to use the OEM size handle to fit without interference.
If it's leaking maybe that's why Foretravel stopped using them, our son has OCD,know what you mean.
It's leaking where the pex crimp is, but it's corroded there. I'll replace the line and fitting, would just prefer it look factory. If I'm buying a valve, I'll buy the one that looks like the rest if it's available.
IMO, good quality is more important than OE look.
Keith,
I know what it's like to be anal...been that way my whole life.
See what you think of the one linked below:
1/2" PEX x PEX Full Port Ball Valve With T-Handle (Lead Free) | Fittings N'... (https://fittingsnvalves.com/products/1-2-pex-x-pex-full-port-ball-valve-with-t-handle-lead-free-615p012-nl)
From the book
That's totally different than mine. Mine look like Keith's.
I replaced all my crimped pex valves in that wet bay location with SharkBite ball valves 4 years ago. No issues.
Ordered Sharkbikes as I couldn't find the exact replacement. Thanks guys.
