I have a problem. my Silverleaf just gave me an Engine code 100 36 Engine Oil Pressure low voltage and the check engine light is on. The oil pressure on the dash gauge is 20 psi at idle and 45 to 48 at 1600 rpm has anybody ever had this problem do not know where to start to look I've checked all fluids all ok Voltage 14.0 coolant 189 degrees turbo 22.8 runs good start good this code has been on for last 300 miles even trying disconnecting batteries to reset computer restarted Silverleaf coach runs perfectly just the alarm and check engine light is driving me crazy
Oil pressure on Silverleaf say at 50 PSI All the time at idle or at 1600
Flip up the dash there is a white 3or4" connector where the club engine light and other warning lights are. Just un plug it. Next sounds like you have an oil pressure sensor failing, without looking at the engine sensor layout you may have 2 OP sensor. One for the dash and one for the ECM.
I think you are right Bruce that I have two oil sensors I just try cleaning the wires on the sending unit or sensor at the oil filter housing and I broke one of the wire studs now the dash unit stopped working but the coach still starts I'll have too replace that one. But on the other side of the engine block there a sensor with three wires coming from it. It is screw in to the engine block maybe that the second sensor I think the temperature sensor are in the head.
You will want to get your dash gauge fixed right away as you should have one gauge working.
Take the wire off the ECM sensor and see if the Silverleaf gauge changes.
Rick according to Cummins Quick serve the 3 wire sensor in the block is the sensor for the ECM.
Thank Bruce I'm going to head to the Cummins dealer as soon as they open and hopefully I can pick up the two sensors the sensor on the engine block just has a plug in I had it unplugged last night the one on the oil filter housing has tow studs with very small nuts to drop I'm try to find a diagram that would tell what and where are all the sensors on the right side of the engine to the ECU there's at least three sensors if not more. I hope the dealer can go by the engine vin number and that it's not a part put on by Foretravel I looked over all the wiring Diagrams that came with the coach but can't find a diagram with all the sensors
Do you have Cummins Quick Serve? If not it's free, put your engine serial number in after you register. It has all the information you will ever need on your motor.
No I don't have it I've seen it but had trouble registering. I'm going to try it back. You got me interested in the site do you know if the computer has to be re-flashed I've been reading on so many different sites and it seems someone said it had to be refreshed
Just to replace sensors on the motor no. When you register on the Cummins site you need to put your user name in email form. 22222.@7777.com
I don't know if this is necessarily related to your issue, however, you might want to read my post about my oil pressure unit going south, and putting our coach into limp mode. The Cummins replacement requires a wiring harness to be installed into the big ECM cannon plug, and then an engine computer re-flash to bring it up to date. At any rate, The topic I started called something like "leaving las vegas", Leaving Las Vegas.... Engine in limp mode, issue with oil pressure sender? (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=31994.msg284464#msg284464explains) what I did. Also, in that post is a picture of the engine identification from the manual that shows the location of the oil sending unit for the ECM. I will also attach that to this reply. Spoiler alert, I found an alternate part number from the OEM oil sending unit that was still available. The OEM sensor part was also used on earlier ISB engines commonly used in Doge trucks. That part crossed over to a new part number that works though it doesn't track as closely with the dash gauge as the original, but at least registers the changing oil pressures as the engine operates. I might have considered using the
retrofit wiring harness and the engine computer re-flash, but looking at the ECM plug which is not at an easy to get at location and considering the re-flash isn't free (I never could find out how much Cummins charges for the service and just got the answer "... it depends".

The sender for the dash gauge was put on by Foretravel. They probably have one.
Update I just replaced the pressure sensor on the engine block Cummins Parts number 4326849 $112.60 the other pressure sensor Cummins said that it was a manufacturing part (Foretravel ) I couldn't find one in this area went to two dealer and a Heavy Duty truck part store no luck. But I found it on line at HDP HEAVY DUTY PROS Cummins oil pressure sensor part number 181119 $35.97 plus fright and tax's this is the sensor or some call it a sending unit it's screws into the oil filter housing this sensor sends the signal to the dash Gage.
Back to block oil sensor that sends the signal to the engine computer this sensor is screwed into the engine block I replaced it with the new one from Cummins it seems to have fix the problem the Silverleaf is reading oil pressure the check engine light is out oil pressure is at 52 psi at 1100 rpm and at 26 psi at idle I ran the coach for 45 minutes everything is reading good will only know next week when I'm back on the road
I'm glad you have one fixed now you have lots of time to get the other one working.
