When my CAC was repaired in August on my 2014 IH45, I discovered a bracket at the bottom of the cooling stack connects to a rod that is perpendicular to the stack, maybe 18 inches or so and connected to a frame rail was broke away from the stack. The bracket/rod doesnt look like its meant for support as much as vibration control/reduction.
I chatted with Turbo off line/email and discovered his is also broken.
I happened to be at MOT for some work and checked out two IH45s: a 2012 and another 2014. Surprise surprise both had same bracket broken away from the stack.
I am curious for any 2012-2015 IH 45s out there that may also have this bracket broken at the weld and separated from stack. I am including some pictures for the 3 (mine and the two others) for reference.
I have also spoken with FOT about this and they seemed to be unaware of anything systemic here. Alan in service asked me to forward all I get for review.
I am still considering next steps on how to reattach the bracket. At the very least it appears tension is causing a problem. Not sure how that reduces harmonic vibrations in the stack if that was the original intention. For now I have been traveling with out it.

As Tom said above, after hearing from Tom, I went out and checked mine and it is broken also. I tried to push the rod with broken end to see if I could get it to align but closest I could get was about 1/4" or so. I tried moving the cooling stack (radiators) and could not get them to budge. Since one end of rod is attached to the frame it has to be the radiators (cooling stack) has moved further out. The piece that broke is aluminum. I have not checked to see if it the cooling radiator or the CAC that the rod was attached too. Will do tonight.
