Title: Remote Wireless Temperature Sensor
Post by: Chuck & Jeannie on November 02, 2023, 11:32:04 am
As we enter the winter months, I know many Forum members are wanting to keep an eye on the temperature in various parts of their coach (and other places).  I just purchased a kool little product that I think might come in handy in many situations.  We just installed a new A/C system in our house, and I have been fine tuning our new fancy wireless thermostat to get the house temps where we want them.  I wanted some wireless temp sensors to place around the house.  Looking on Amazon (of course) I decided to try the SwitchBot 3-pack.  Got them yesterday.  After downloading the app to my iPhone and activating the 3 sensors, I am so far very impressed.  The app is dead simple - displays all the sensors on one screen with real-time instantaneous updates as the temps change.  You can "name" each sensor.  The sensors are small - about the size of my thumb.  They come with a piece of double-stick tape to mount the sensor, or a nice little lanyard to hang it on a hook.  I think a pretty good deal for $26 (including a $10 off coupon).

I'm assuming you need the hub for true internet access?
Can you set alarms?

Yes, extra cost hub is needed for remote internet access.  I didn't require that, so didn't care.

Setting alarms - Yes, you can set alarms on your phone with the basic setup (no hub required).

I've been very happy with the Govee products.  Has a Bluetooth hub and alarm settings for all devices.  The water sensors have a very loud standalone alarms that alerted me to some door seal issues on a couple occasions.  Thermometers can be just temperature or a temperature/humidistat for the fancier model
