What is the problem with the 2500? You can never go wrong with the Victron 12v 3KW I/C and is the same size as the 2500/3000 Prosine.
wyll not charge dead house batteries that are 4 yrs. old
They, and virtually all smart inverter/chargers are designed to NOT attempt to charge a deeply discharged battery.
You will need to use some other method of getting voltage up to where the smart charger function will take over.
Use a "stupid"/automotive charger or jump from another battery, coach's engine/alternator, toad with jumper cables, etc to get voltage up.
Just because your batteries are 4 years old does not mean they are good. If they have been abused by letting voltage go below 8 volts they may really be dead. The Prosine is probably throwing the yellow fault light on your control panel. It will not charge until the fault is corrected. Do a hard reset(see your manual) after you get the voltage above 10.5 volts. What Brett said is very true. If you are to salvage those batteries you will need to go old school and put a non smart charger on them. You never said what type batteries you have. Good luck.

Definitely like others have said. The Prosine will not charge dead batteries. I learned that many years ago when we took a bunch of coaches that were new for sale coaches and they had dead batteries. Thankfully there was one tech that knew about not being able to charge dead batteries.
Hard Reset= remove battery cables from bottom of Prosine and reconnect after 20 minutes. If you are lucky enough to have the Prosine ACP you may be able to do a soft reset from the panel. Only after battery above 10.5 volts otherwise you will get the fault again.
Thanks to all members for their knowledge and insight. You saved me alot of time
The bateries are toast..
I like my Xantrex 3000
Toasted batteries.... Time to make the move to lithium? Better for you if y'all abuse your batteries like we did.
Along the same lines as this thread -- coaches usually do not have a device connected to the Battery Isolator that would allow House AND Engine batteries to be charged by a single source on input power. For Example: Alternator, Shore Power or Generator.
Would an Echo Charger unit - or something similar accomplish that task? Do Forum members have a better choice (than Echo Charger) and what are the downsides to doing this method of keeping all batteries charged. Thanks.
An Echo Charger will work. I also had made my own system but have removed it and I put in a
ML-Series Solenoid Switch which is an Isolator that charges both batteries from any source and
saw it on sale
