Title: Aqua Hot Burner Installation
Post by: JCinPA on December 10, 2023, 02:32:55 am
All,
I recently purchased a 1999 U320 and had the Aqua Hot serviced for the first time by a factory trained tech. After the service I noticed a slow fuel leak around the fuel lines, thinking there was an issue with a lose line I discover the fuel was running down the line from above. Reomoving the burner seemed like a straight foreward process so I took it out and found the fuel seemed to be leaking from the small pump between the hardlines, I tightened the four screws and that seemed to resolve the problem. Here is where the trouble started, I have not been able to get the burner to reseat in the housing deep enough to get both hold-down bolts started and tightened. The burner doesn't seem to seat properly but I don't see any alignment marks, notches or pins. If there is a trick or something I'm missing I'd sure appreciate some guidance.
Thank you,
John

Hello John,

Welcome to Foretravel ownership and to the Foreforum group.

Please do call Rudy, he will be happy to talk with you and definitely get you comfortable with working on your Aqua Hot.  Over time you will learn to really love the Aqua Hot (and occasionally be frustrated with it for short periods of time),

Richard

Make sure that the shield that's on the burner that surrounds the nozzle is loose and not warped. It should move freely. Putting a burner back on is fairly straightforward and you will clearly see that it lines up with the two banjo bolts that hold the burner in place. The one closest to you should be at the 2:00 position and the one for this away at the 7:00 o'clock position. These line up with the parts on the burner that the bolts hook over on. Putting the burner straight in is important. Also you might want to pull out the combustion chamber and make sure that that is clean and free of carbon which it should be if you just had it serviced. Also make sure you don't take the nuts all the way off and if you did screw them back on a few turns before you try to put the burner back on.
If it's not sealing it may be that the combustion chamber is not fully seated it should be in tight.
When you tighten the bolts back up make sure you do not over tighten them.
