2023 Realm. Aquahot 450D. Prepping for annual aquahot service and have a question about the fuel lines to and from the aqua hot unit. The lines have a copper line appearance from a distance but are actually what appears to be a hard plastic. My question is can these plastic lines be crimped to prevent spillage as you would do with rubber lines?
Anyone have experience with these lines?
Thanks
Rudy will have to confirm but my experience with those type lines they will kink if you crimp them and not recover their shape and could cause a leak.
The really smart folks have caused you to get plugs to install when you remove the metal fuel lines to stop leaking till you can reinstall the metal lines. Gonna be messy
Rudy,
do you happen to know the size of the plugs for the lines on the older rubber lines/Metal fuel line connectors (fip/mip/flared whatever they are)? AHE100
Yes I could just crimp them , but would prefer to just temp crimp then Plug while working on the unit in the future., Mainly would just like to have the plugs in my tool box.
Thanks
I carry a pair of these they work great.

I have several sets of those, but would like to get a set of hose connection plugs as last time I took the unit out it was out for a few days waiting on a part.
Mike, The metal fuel lines are connected with 7/16 compression nut. A fittings store can provide you with two nuts to slip over two short Lines that you can crimp or plug. Two short metal lines would work if you also have a flare tool.
