Thought I would try to ask some people more knowledgeable than myself where to start. Just noticed that my auxiliary compressor hasn't been running, fuse and is getting power. Went to extend the rear slide and the bladder will not deflate and yellow light not turning solid. Front slide deflating properly. Reset hwh system multiple time and everything else works normally. Thoughts? Not sure if both are related or separate issues. Thanks
I tried switching the panels and no change other than the front light won't go steady yellow. Assuming not enough air in system any longer. Auxiliary compressor will not start up. Thoughts?
When you mention the fuse, are you referring to the inline fuse near the aux compressor (and verified the fuse is good)?
Does the aux compressor ever run - such as when parked and needing to relevel on wake up check?
There is also a resettable breaker for the aux compressor in with the rest of the resettable 12V ones.
Odd you say the front bladder works but not the rear. If there is enough pressure for one, the other should work too.
Do you have a switch on your drivers panel marked Air Tank? Mine is on the last row (rearward), closest to the HWH panel. If you throw this switch, does the Aux air pump come on?
With a test light or voltage meter, need to check and see if you have 12 volts to motor. Go between the ground and the red wire on the solenoid.
It you have 12 v then need to check pressure switch is working and is closed
The inline fuse is replaced and verified as intact. I have not found a resettable breaker, not sure where it is. The auxiliary compressor is not able to run.
I'll check the voltage to the compressor in the am, where is the solenoid?
I was incorrect, neither slide is able to go to the solid yellow. I heard the front slide deflating, but not the rear due to engine noise. The switch does not turn on the aux compressor at this point.
The switch doesn't operate the aux compressor. What is does is open a solenoid that allows the aux compressor output to go into the main tanks. You'd need to have the engine off and lower air levels, then use the air tank switch and see if the low pressure causes the aux compressor to come on.
The resettable 12V breaker should be one of the ones on that bank in one of the streetside bays. They don't look like 120VAC breakers. There is a small "button" that you can press to try and reset it.
12 V compressor (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=9857.msg44438#msg44438)
The resettable circuit breaker for the HWH compressor is behind the removable panel in the bay where the compressor is located.
Actually, mine does. When you hit the switch, the solenoid opens and the pump comes on regardless of current pressure.
Ah, but isn't yours modified from OEM? Aux air pump system replacement (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=44535.msg451199#msg451199)
If so, that wouldn't apply to Carl's coach.
So I did a little love tap to the solenoid on the auxiliary compressor and voila it is now working! Slide in front is working normal, but rear was slow and only went partway out, assuming with help that it was low hydraulic fluid in the reservoir that I'll pick up tomorrow to top off. Other than that, slides and slide bladders working properly.
Issue now is the starboard 110 outlets in the front and bathroom are not working, where would I find the breaker for these?
Thanks for all the insight everyone, learning lots as I fumble through this. Just glad I'm not replacing a compressor, I'm sure its pricey.
So how do these reset? Appear to be self resetting?
Try resetting the GFCI outlets in the kitchen and bath. Note - you'll likely need to be on shore power (not gen or inverter) to get them to reset.
Not seeing a gfci on any of the three outlets
Has to be one, most likely in the bathroom just under the lip of the countertop. Hard to see.
I would plan on getting another solenoid. Once you have to give it a love tap, may not be long before that does not work
"Most" are on left side of breaker, could be hidden from view under the brass bar.
I put it on my foretravel order list
Mine did this stock. I just retained that functionality when I installed the new pump.
I've lightened up your picture Carl, and pointed to the reset button. When they need to be reset, you will find this button popped out. It doesn't look like yours is popped out currently. With the circuit breaker not tripped, if you measure voltage from ground to the post with the wire on it, you should have 12v. If not, check that the other post (incoming power) shows 12v. If it does, maybe the CB is bad.
Thanks, the auxiliary compressor mod you did looks great and something I may do in the future if I h have more issues. All is working again except needing to add hydraulic fluid to the compressor reservoir. Is it important to use hwh brand, or is any good quality hydraulic fluid okay? Assuming my warranty has expired 😂, but just looking for longevity at this point. Thanks!
Hwh brand is clear so it will not stain your carpet red if you have a leak
That is a good thing, luckily we have very little carpet left. So any high quality clear hydraulic fluid should be fine then.
