Title: Air dryer filter and desiccant
Post by: Carl Isner on February 02, 2024, 07:17:03 am
I'm looking for step by step instructions to change the filter and desiccant in my air dryer, any links someone can point me towards?  I also thought I saw someone post that they had emergency air dryer bypass parts, anyone have a link for that?  Thanks!

As I remember, when you buy the kit, it comes with directions for changing the filters.  A quick search of the forum for "air dryer bypass" brings up many hits.

First off do you have the Pure Air Plus? A Purest Air is a different hog so these parts won't help.

If so you need a DQ 6026 (filters) and a DQ6020 (lower kit) the filters alone can leave you setting on the side of the road.
OR
get a factory remanufactured unit DA33100X

Here is what I have, found the directions in the Haldex replacement filter from MOT, just looking for practical tips and where to find a cheap replacement after I replace this one shortly.  Thanks!

Ok the part numbers from above will be your friend whether DIY or remove and replace. Pulling it off and getting it to the work bench so it can be properly cleaned is the hardest part. Make sure you mark the hoses as to where they go back. The N4250 is the new number for the Pure Air Plus.

I just did this and the instructions that came with the kit were very easy to follow. I must have did it right I did get air pressure and did not see any moisture. I did both the upper and lower kits. These are the only pics I took.

I found a instructional video on U-Tube. it can add a bit of confidence for sure.
