Title: Powertech es52fs controller
Post by: Townrestor on February 05, 2024, 04:24:39 pm
Just got my new controller in for the generator. It came with a wire for adapting the speed sensor voltage. All the paper work said refer to manual. Supposed to change voltage from 300 to 50. Anyone know where these wires plug in?
Thanks,
Larry
Never mind the pigtail was not supposed to be in the box with the controller. I don't need anymore confusion in my life.

Where does your existing ES52 get its speed signal? Follow wires connected to inputs 0 and 1 on ES52 (on my 98 8K). On my generator the speed signal comes from a stepdown transformer that receives 110 signal from generator output, steps it down to 12 volts AC. The ES52 is looking for HZ around 50 to 60, factory default it shuts down for overspeed at 68HZ. If the input is from crankshaft sensor you change dip switch settings for much higher HZ. Newer ES52 is a twisted wire connector to ES52 rather than lugs.

I ve been chasing down a persistent overspeed error for a long time. The above information is buried in ES52 manual as I have read it. Good luck.

Thanks for responding. I called the parts lady at Powertech and she put me on hold then came back and said that the wire was put in the box by mistake and I don't need it. At least parts will answer been waiting on tech service for three month's now to call back.
