Title: Aqua hot circulation
Post by: bigdog on February 20, 2024, 11:29:49 am
While I have always had a hot cutlery drawer in the galley. I figured it was due to the AH being under that area. But I have also noticed that the drawer in the bedroom above the AH vent are also hella hot all the time, even though that vent hasn't activated in a few days.

SO, Do the AH circulation pumps always run when the system is on?  I thought that the pump and fan only come on when heat is called for in that zone.

There are 3 zone pumps in your heater.  The center pump runs 2 zones, bathroom and basement.  When basement thermostat calls for heat, pump 2 starts and supplies hot coolant to the bathroom fan coil and to basement fan coil.  Only the basement fan starts.

Pump 1 supplies hot coolant to the salon fan coils while pump3 supplies the bedroom fan coil.  None of those coils should be hot except when room thermostat is calling for heat.  But they will be plenty warm if they were running recently, takes a while to cool off.

Thanks for the info Rudy.  Just after posting, I realized I had turned off the thermostat in the bathroom (zone 2). And when I went to check the hot drawers in the bedroom, all was at room temp. I must have the basement temp set to come on at too high a temp.
