Title: Slide Out Air Seals
Post by: Carleton on March 10, 2024, 06:10:14 pm
Hoping someone knows of a service or individual in the greater Southern California area who can replace leaking Slide out air-seals (bladders) in a 2006 Nimbus. HWH and MOT can replace them, but I'm hoping to find a closer source.

Can you see the leak?  I just sealed a foot long dryrot on our livingroom slide with Loctite 406.  I had tried everything and then I read on the forum of someone having success with Loctite.  I was VERY skepitical but I tried it after ripping off all the other attempted repairs.  I am flabbergasted that it is holding with no leaks.  I think if you can see it, you can at least temporarily fix it.  I do have an appointment with Keith to replace the bladder in May.

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to add photos if you want to edit your post.  The area between the tape was where the major leak was, the rest was being proactive along a dryrot seam.

Instead of "Quick Edit" do a "Modify" (hover over "more" to the right of "quick edit") - that will get you the full editor.  If you still don't see it there, once in "Modify" go below the text input area and click "Preview" - the file adder should then show below the text input area

Curious what Keith is going to charge for labor.  Where did you buy the bladder and what did that run you?  I've got to get 2 bladders and figure out who to have change them both likely this year.

With past history dealing with MOT, FOT, & Keith. Keith is going to be way, way, less expensive then the other two.

Carleton, You may try Temecula Valley RV.  North of San Diego. I've been told they do work on Foretravel slides. I have not used them personally, but I believe some on this forum have.

I won't give out Keith's prices but he estimates 10 hours labor and usually has it done in one day.  He has about 3 weeks lead time required after order.  FOT makes their own bladders at their shop from material by HWH.  Everyone else buys from HWH given dimentions of your slide.  IBTTBT
