Title: SE-GI Window replacements
Post by: mikez98072 on April 30, 2024, 04:43:13 pm
Hi folks - I have a 2008 Nimbus with the SE-GI windows and have had one fall out and the others are all fogged. Has anyone worked with Parkin Accessories to replace your SE-GI windows? I know many folks have referred us to Peninsula Glass. Just wondering if Parkin is a good company to work with too.

Also, contrary to what I have heard from FT... SE GI is not out of business. They were acquired by Truck Accessories Group which is now Leer Group. I'm getting some prices from Parkin and Peninsula.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mike

Will follow this post with interest since our coach has the same horrible window problem. I caught two right before falling out and have many fogged.

Just talked to Parkin, they are working with SE GI to find out which windows will replace ours. All but one of the part numbers is obsolete. But hopefully, they will have all of the sizes, etc. Also, I did talk to several other glass manufacturers... Parkin and Peninsula Glass (Motion Industries) were both recommended.

Foretravel is now using Lippert Hehr windows on their new coaches. However, they dont have a replacement window for the old SE Gi windows. I also talked to Parkin Accessories... they dont have a replacement either. Soooo, its off to Motion Windows to buy custom windows. Anyone know the thickness of the walls in a 2008 Nimbus?

So, after much research on this topic, the only company that I could find that provided custom windows for our coach was Peninsula Glass in Vancouver, WA. Their process works well, but you do need to pop out a couple of windows to confirm the actual hole size and window radius. Our Nimbus was a 3 inch radius. You can order the new windows in any style, or color that you like. We went with the dual pane version. Will update with pix after install.

Looking forward to getting pictures on this upgrade !

Do you know when they stopped using the SE-GI windows,  was it a one year item or did the use span a few years?

What is the ballpark cost /  lead time for a replacement?
