Stuck off I55 in Missouri with a rig that won't crank.
Starter spins but won't engage engine.
Mobile tech on the way.
Hope mobile tech is bringing a new starter or at least parts to fix it.
If not, you might start calling around to see if you can find one so tech does not have to spend time doing it.
Have a shop in Memphis that can get you a new starter of fix yours.Where exactly are you.
Intersection of I55 & route 71.
Just outside of Steele Mo.
Mobile tech is here now. Running one out from his shop now. States its bad solenoid, which he can fix.
States I'll be back on the road in 2 hours or so.
Ok, that was the wrong starter.
My old unit is going back to his shop to work on it abs he'll be back this evening.
(Fingers crossed)
What a long day!
As the hours dragged on, I heard nothing from the mechanic and could not reach him. So here I'm thinking SCAM and I'm stuck.
Finally managed to get in contact with him and he tells me he had to call in some favors to get some parts.
FINALLY shows up at 9:30PM and installed it.
Alice now starts again!
So, spending a romantic night at a truck stop with the wifey.
Thanks to all who reached out. Peoples willingness to help here is unparalleled.
Thank you.
RVing is fun!
Yeah it's fun... Until it's not.
Post the techs company and name and number, someone else may need an go the extra mile type service.
Don't know where, exactly, you were stuck in the truck stop lot, but if not sitting in the fuel lane then it could have been worse.
One of our other members (Roland) had that lovely experience. See thread linked below.
Ever since then, I leave our engine running when refueling. Yes, I know, not everybody agrees with that procedure, but it works for me. DWMYH
Stuck on the fuel isle (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=22773.0)
Wonderful.
Getting propane filled and same same, but now with a knocking noise when trying to crank.
Spoke to hom on the phone and he's trying to find a new in box unit.
His communication skills are to be desired.
