Just drained and cleaned the hydraulic tank, a couple questions, I can only find a synthetic blend of dello 400 will this be okay for the system? And when I put the lid back on the band doesn't seem to fit tight it will still turn with a little effort but the ears on the bands are touching no other movement so can't get any tighter?

Synthetic should not be a problem. Stick with the OE viscosity.
Are you using a new lid gasket???

1. Your next answer 999-55A is the gasket number Brett is referring to
2. Now it sounds like you need to index one of the bands. You may have both the male sides of the clamp together which makes the female sides together. If this happens it will result in your problem.

Great idea, think I'll do the same when I install my new pump....BUT, sheet do tend to happen, think I would plug the end of that ball valve.
I agree thinking plastic as lighter less strain on the threads, researching my paper work the last oil change I can come up with is over 50k ago, not good
Tractor supply sells some made out of plastic/teflon over in the area where they have the heavy sprayers.
Brass would be good also.
Why? And Why. Unless you have a failure why are you concerned with changing again. Mine was 20 years old and looked like the day it was put in. It is not subject to combustion and its byproducts. It's a sealed system other than heat/cool cycles. Mine had no evidence of moisture either. IMO your adding unnecessary weight to your coach and actually adding additional failure points and stress. Drain the oil. Put the drain plug back in and service. Repeat in say 20 years. Oil analysts would probably back up my statement. In regards to synthetic oil I first hand know they will seek leaks more FWIW
The "leaking synthetic oil" was maybe true 40 years ago with older gaskets but a 40 wt. is 40 wt. whether synthetic or not.If

John Ive been around synthetic oil since 1980. Was involved with a SOAP lab ( spectrum oil analyst procedure) they would take oil and analyze what was in the removed oil. The system you are recommending already has seals that were not compatible with the original non synthetic oil used. May have heard of them, steering gear box seals. DWMYH I do use synthetics whenever practical
Guess I have the synthetic oil special seals and they are not leaking,and yes I have heard of steering box seals.
