I have an on-going post about my cruise control woes but this might be a new issue.
This weekend I went for a run to the coast and back and this started happening...
While cruise control was engaged, if I started climbing a hill and put load on the engine the cruise would kick off. Once it kicks off it would not let me engage again. This happens weather the trans kicks down a gear or not.
It will reset if I stop for an undermined amount of time (usually the time it takes to fuel up). So once I get back on the road the cruise will work again until the above situation happens...which is very soon.
Now I will say, it doesn't do it every time right away but eventually it kicks off and stops working until I stop and it resets itself.
This could be the issue I had all along but of course it's intermittent so it's really hard to diagnose what's causing it.
Yes, THIS HAPPENS WHEN MY RETARDER IS OFF. That means on/off switch is in the off position. So I'm assuming this is not a retarder induced problem...I think.
Hopefully someone on here has had a similar situation.
Thanks!
Mine has always disconnected if it downshifts. Will be following to see. I've just become used to accommodating its quirks. Like being married
I'll check mine when I leave here as there is a long steep grade between here (June lake) and Bridgeport.
Still working through the marriage quirks :)
I'm assuming that once yours kicks off, you're able to hit resume and cruise works as usual?...that's where mine goes sideways...
I think everyone is and yes
