Title: Generator 12volt
Post by: bbeane on May 20, 2024, 09:45:35 am
I have a 1999 10K powertech generator. Generator was running just fine shut it down for about an hour. Went to start it it started and shut down. Now now crank no fuel pump, looks like no 12v to the controls like a fuse is blown. Have not had a chance to pull the cover on the control box.
I'm also dealing with a no run issue and a tow to a shop. Things are not going well this week so far.

Repaired, broken wire in the control box.

Normal fault tree. Hot?  No oil pressure? Plugged air filter?

ended up being the Start button in the remote start panel in the engine bay. Corroded and shorted causing no start on the Cummins 15 dollar sw = 1400.00 dollar tow and repair.

Dang, another hidden snafu...
Well glad your up and running. Thanks for heads up on the remote start corrosion issue, may save some owners some bucks down the road, I'll be checking mine out!

checked all the connections on the caps pump all voltage and ground's checked good. They happened to try the remote start, the switch basically fell apart. With the corrosion causing it to short out.
