Title: 1996 Allison transmission connections
Post by: dans96u295ft on June 01, 2024, 06:03:09 pm
On the driver side of my Allison 6 speed, I have a round wire harness that is showing wear on the actual aluminum connector. Can you replace these or do they make them anymore? All works great but it is a wear item from corrosion apparently and I would like to get a new one. .
Thanks

Does it look like the attached picture? That model is no longer made. It's a 31 pin Deutsch connector. You should be able to find numbers on the side of it.

Aluminum Male (https://www.te.com/en/product-HD36-24-31ST.html)
Aluminum Female (https://www.te.com/en/product-HD34-24-31PT.html)

Composite Male (https://www.te.com/en/product-HDP26-24-31ST.html)
Composite Female (https://www.te.com/en/product-HDP24-24-31Pt.html)

Deutsch Pin removal tool (https://a.co/d/is5Poix)

Here are replacement options. Aluminum or Composite depending on your preference. The Aluminum do tend to get stuck together and are a pain to take apart sometimes. The composite is my preference because of that.

The removal tool is how you get the pins out. It slides over the back of the wire and you push it in and it releases the tangs that are holding the pins in. Then the wire, tool and pin all slide out.
