What do people do while traveling and your vehicle's registration needs to be renewed? I am currently in Arizona and my vehicle's are registered in Texas.

Register Your Vehicle | TxDMV.gov (https://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/register-your-vehicle)

For the inspection part, you can certify you're out of Texas at registration renewal and once you return to the state you have 3 days to get inspected Motorists | Two Steps. One Sticker. Texas DMV (http://twostepsonesticker.com/motorists)

Special Circumstances
Out-of-State Motorists
If your vehicle is currently out-of-state and you are unable to complete a Texas vehicle inspection in order to renew your registration, you may self-certify that the vehicle is out-of-state and will be permitted to register online, by mail, or in person.

If you renew your vehicle registration using the out-of-state self-certification option, a remark will be placed on your vehicle record indicating that an inspection is still due. Once you return to the state, you must complete a Texas vehicle inspection within three days of arrival at your home, duty station, or destination. It is very important that you keep the VIR issued after completing your inspection in case you are stopped by law enforcement before the remark is removed from your vehicle record, which can take two business days. The remark will be removed only upon payment of the state's portion of the inspection fee and verification of inspection at your county tax office.

Might not apply in 2025 - I see the safety inspection is going away but not sure about the emissions testing for gasoline and hybrid vehicles.

When we bought our Foretravel in 2013 we were still living in Missouri, so I took it up the road to a shop for an inspection, then went the other way to the county seat to get it licensed. The next year we were in Oklahoma, so made the switch to South Dakota for registration. Mailed in the paperwork and a check and got back plates, registration, and title. That's how we did it until we sold the coach in 2023. Of course, South Dakota has no vehicle inspection requirements, so that may be an issue for some of you.
