Title: Putting back into service from winter
Post by: dans96u295ft on June 13, 2024, 12:18:49 am
Checked all the systems and added water to get ready for the summer camping trips. What amazing coaches these are. As usual, no trouble, all systems go. I'm so glad I bought a 1996 FT. Built so well.

The dash air has never worked and living where I do, really don't need it. Did they cool effectively when new? The compressor is so far away from the dash, I just wondered.

My 98 does cool and I have hung a shower curtain behind seats to help reduce the area to be cooled. It is not comparable to my car but it works up to about 94 degrees then I need to run generator. I have to add Freon every couple years and the dryer and a valve have been replaced.

I think it is cheaper to run generator than repair and maintain dash air, but I've had trouble with my generator.

The 97 that I had,  AC worked, but fan speed was not that great. I think I only had it worked on once in the 19 years I owned it.

On my Monaco it had dash fans which really helped with the dash AC and now we have house fans
by are seats that really make a difference.
