Title: Removing Interior Door Handle Question
Post by: floridarandy on June 25, 2024, 06:58:22 pm
The interior silver pull handle has two screws. A non-forum friend said he wants to replace the torn material behind the handle and he's afraid if he removes those 2 acres he'll lose whatever retainers may be inside the door panel requiring removal of the whole interior door panel. Picture from my coach attached of the screws in question.

What's the wisdom of the group?

There are no retainers behind the door card. They are metal screws and screw into the door.

Thanks Ron. Fred will appreciate it. I'll have him contact you if he has further questions.

When the vinyl behind my interior door handle got cracked and unsightly, I just added a plastic backing between the metal handle and padded vinyl.

That's a brilliant solution and looks good too.  Your screen door catch looks different than mine, did you do something with that too?

The screen door latch is original.
