Well, I finally got the new toilet all plumbed in and it works great.
On to the next issue!
The coach sat in storage from Halloween week until about two weeks ago. Finished installing the toilet and turned on the water pump, after filling the fresh water tank and flushing out the RV antifreeze. Pump rocker switches (2) are spring return. Toggle the switch down and the little green Light comes on and the pump should run.
NOPE!!! Neither switch turns on the pump (new pump last year that worked fine) or had the green light stay on. If I hold the switch in the "ON" position the pump ran.
Continuity on both switches tests good. I checked the connections under the couch where the pump is located. All good. I bypassed the kitchen switch and the pump runs until reaching the set pressure limit.
So I replaced the rocker switch with an ON/OFF switch and now the pump works. But the bathroom spring return switch doesn't turn on the pump but the little green light comes on when the switch is actuated.
SO, WHAT GOES?? Any ideas?? HELP?? I am NOT an electrician and don't like electricity because I can't see it, smell it, or taste it. But I sure can feel it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might be a bad relay. There is a relay in the circuit between the momentary switches and the pump.
Where your relay is physically located...I don't know. Someone else may know where it hides...
See if the thread below is any help:
Fresh water pump relay (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=23339.msg180994#msg180994)
I think my relay is mounted on the driver's side wall under the couch. Just beyond the reach of my arms. OF COURSE!!!! I lift up the couch seat and see the pump just inside the couch base and further in, almost directly ahead, is where the power wire for the pump comes from.
I will try to get the info off it, but don't holds your breath.
That's where it is in my coach and I had to remove the couch seat (2 bolts if I remember correctly) to get at it.
It was such a pita that I didn't put the bolts back in. The seat now comes out and goes back in easily, It works fine as a couch and I never use the pull out bed feature.
You will also need to do this if you ever want to replace the water pump.
A good idea to take pieces of tape and label where the arms/bolts go. Makes reassembly easy.
My relay JD142C 12V WAS--I say WAS--located on the driver's side wall under the couch. I moved it over closer to the face of the couch, on the inner slanted wood of the front wheel well. Now, after checking I discover that the relay is really and truly "toast."
But I can reach it now. Will be ordering a 111-941-583 EC 12V relay.
Forget ordering Ebay 111-941-583EC.
Go to CarQuest or Advance Auto and order RAA1306. Same thing!!! Open the box and you will see JD142C-12n one side of the relay.
Around $24 and overnight delivery (here for me at least.) We stopped in Advance Auto at around 4:00 PM and ordered the part and delivery was promised for 8:00AM the next day!!!
