Title: Steering box rebuild recommendations
Post by: kstine98 on July 14, 2024, 04:17:55 pm
My steering box is now leaking.  I know I can replace the seal, and that may be the fix, but this unit is 25 years old and I think I would be more comfortable getting it rebuilt.  I think that pulling it will too big of a project for me to tackle.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where I can go near St Louis to get it pulled and then reinstalled after the rebuild?

Also, where do you recommend that I send it for the rebuild?

Or, am I overreacting, and should I just repair the seal?

Kevin, get a diesel truck mechanic to remove/replace the box.  Stopping by truck repair shops will help find one willing to work on a motorhome.  Ship it to
Chris. 713/672-6344
Chalk Truck Parts
818 McCarty Dr
Houston TX 77029

Chris has rebuilt many Foretravel steering boxes, knows them well and is easy to deal with.
