Hi all,
Does anyone know where to find the source of this hydraulic fluid drip near the radiator fan? It is dripping from the bracket holding the fan mechanism. It left a puddle under the radiator fan (guessing a quarter cup), and it seems new but I have only had the coach for a month.
The hydraulic reservoir is full. I do not see leaks on any connections. Is there a seal on the fan mechanism that can leak?
The red highlight area on the bracket is where the oil is pooling. The white paper shows the fluid color (left side from bracket and right side from hydraulic reservoir.
I have not run the engine yet and watched for a leak but that seems like my next step.
Hose or fitting, one of the oil coolers, or one of the fan motors. The motors are also wearing items and sometimes the seals need to be replaced.
In the 3rd pic. you can see the oil drip on the fan mounting plate. 95% sure the motor seal need replacing. If you are a tinkerer this is a DIY job just dirty. I will hunt around and find a thread that has part numbers and some how to pics.

Here is a link to the project coach when we resealed the fan motors.

There are several threads on this job so do a search and read up on what is ahead.
You should need a 30mm/20mm/7mm seal
As Mike said, just a dirty job, 4 gal of oil to drain, about 15 gallons of coolant to drain to remove the pipe to the trans cooler, and a bunch of hoses.
I am sure it's hard to know, but can I put this off so we can go on a few short trips (under 1,000 miles total) and keep an eye on the reservoir until Fall?
I will go out on a limb and say you should be OK. The longer you let it go the bigger mess you will have to clean up.

I have heard it said (not on this forum) that it may only leak when sitting still and not running. I have no personal experience with this issue only what I have heard. The only way to check this theory is to run it a short distance and bring it up to temperature and check it immediately....... Good luck
