My chrome tailpipe fell off. Can I drive it for about 2 hours.
The exhaust hits the side of the coach instead of going out the back.
On the side of the road now.

You really dont want the exhaust inside the fiberglass. It can cause all sorts of problems burning wires and fiberglass, not to mention carbon monoxide poisoning for you
Actually it was not only the chrome end piece but the 5 ft section that comes off of the muffler. I may drive it 10 miles to the nearest truck service place.
Actually the hanger fell off. Im. going to try to do it myself
Even something temporary like a roll of flashing will help. This is a great example why I weld everything together , no clamps. If clamps are pulled down enough to distort the base metal they work , but generally they are undertorqued
That puts the exhaust way under the coach. Low power settings reduce exhaust temperature. This can be a bad situation to be in.
Well i managed to rig it up. I think it was the clamp that broke off first then the hanger held on as long as it could. Then the whole thing fell off. My wife retrieved the pipe and with some deep well sockets and a clothes hanger it think we will make it.
There is some rust and holes in the pipes so they will need to be replaced soon.

If you drive it without that pipe taking the exhaust out from under the coach, it will melt the fiberglass and wires and probably the taillight too. At least that is what happened to a friend of mine.
Sounds like it's time to get rid of that heavy snail exhaust can and do a clean mod. Save weight, lil better response too.
