Title: Adding seat belts for rear seat passengers
Post by: Dennis H on August 09, 2024, 04:44:18 pm
I need to add seat belts for the rear seats. Both for passengers and child's car seat.
I have a 2008 Nimbus 342 SE. Pul out bed on curb side and long j-lounge seating on driver's side.

 Microsoft services (https://1drv.ms/f/s!AqaEiIhKCAKbkr4v1_RQzrhcuWx17g?e=pTNQ0P)

Need ideas for mounting the seat belts to the slide out structure. Are there locations for this? Is there a kit? Looking for 2 sets on each side.

Thank you,
Dennis

Have you dug down between the cushions first?  Our '03 had 3 seat belts mounted to the slide framing.  They usually slipped between the cushions when not in use.  We only used ours for the dogs' seatbelt harnesses.

For a car seat, don't you need a forward-facing seat/seatback for safety?  You might need to have the lounge sofa remodeled to accommodate that.

For those that have could you send me pictures of the attachment points? For the sofa on the driver's side there is not even cut outs behind the cushions for the belts to pass. On the curb side that is a fold out bed so the belts can pass behind the cushions. For the child seat I figure at the front of the couch and need to mount seat facing the rear with the seat back against the slide wall.
My thought is that the belt anchors need to be attached to frame is some way, not just the wood floor.
