Easy solution for a Kool O Matic fan cover. If you have a table saw cut a slot in 2 pieces of 3/4x3/4 material (I used a piece of walnut) to allow an 1/8" piece of plywood to slide freely in. In the pictures I have not stained it yet.
That looks really nice Bruce. So far my original cover is still holding together but one of these days I may have to copy you.

Nice solution.
Honest question: Do you need to cover it for some reason or is that just for cosmetics?
I was told that the stain Foretravel used was Sherwin Williams (satin) sanding sealer, nothing else, but maybe they were just pulling my leg.
Covering it helps keep air from coming in while you drive down the road
That's what David Flanagan told us as well, and what we used on our TV cabinet remodel. Perfect match to sheen. Wood was black walnut with no stain.
Air, and dirt. Unless fan is in use, we keep our OEM plastic cover in place when coach is parked to keep dirt and pollen from blowing in the opening.
The satin sealer does indeed match what the factory uses. We have remodeled the interior and added 3 cabinet/tables, along with a chase on the drivers side that match great.
That's gorgeous! Love how you have the grain/figuring flowing across multiple drawers ^.^d
Thanks. My cousins husband built them.
That is really beautiful work Bruce!
