I'm trying to hunt down the current Cummins P/N for the thermostat (180-201 full open / non vented) for a 2000 U320 ISM, engine (build data Nov99)
The customized parts catalog for my ESN lists P/N 3335550 - however this is no longer a valid number on the shop Cummins site. Looking it up on quickserve / parts catalog it lists the following lineage
- 3335550 Obsolete > 4973373 Obsolete > 2882757 Obsolete > 4318197 Obsolete > TSB 4318947 Current??
P/N 4318947 is available on the shop site and was mentioned/purchased in another post. Also mentioned/purchased in another post was P/N 3076489 is also available on the parts site. When I do a "Check compatibility with your equipment" on the site, using my ESN, both come back as not compatible. Anyone know what is the correct part number ??
Then there is the Thermostat Seal. In the customized part catalog under EC2701 Thermostat it lists P/N 3335548, and under the Thermostat Housing TH2064 is shows P/N 186780. Any idea on which of those is correct/compatible?
I attached the TSB for reference, which details why 4318197 was obsoleted.
Are there any other seals that are needed to do the thermostat change?
Now I don't wonder why the parts guy face goes blank when they have to look up a part!

Thanks, based on those links and numbers, it appears as P/N 4318947 is the current one for the thermostat. One of the links had the TSB linked as well and showed the P/N lineage that I found. At least if its wrong I now have someone to blame ;D
4318947 is the thermostat number that was given to me by Cummins. I was going to replace the thermostat when I did my coolant flush and fill but it turned out that it was way more difficult to get to than I thought it was going to be and I was short on time. Since I had not had any cooling problems I decided to not open up that can of worms. So the thermostat wound up in my spare parts box.
