Title: Problem With Dump Valve
Post by: WagonWheels on September 12, 2024, 05:46:28 pm
My gray water blade valve with cable connector has stopped working in the open position.  Since I have to remove the front panel to make the valve repair I have decided to re-plumb the bay to add a third valve and cam-lock connector for the dump hose.  Question:  What type and size of connector is used to join the gray and black water holding tanks to the three inch ABS piping. On my current set up there is a hose clamp used on each pipe next to its respective tank. Can't really see how the connector is joined to the ABS pipe.  Thanks in advance on your advice and suggestions.

Take a look at this thread Steve posted a few days ago, which includes photos and info on the connections to the holding tanks:

This is the hub fitting he used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QX92VWN

Holding Tank Hub Fitting (as above) which inserts into the polyethylene holding tank nipple.

The hub has an O-Ring to seal but you must use butyl to really seal it, plus the hose clamp.  I used the butyl caulk sold by the hub MFG, probably unnecessary (there many sources for butyl caulk)  but I really don't want that connection to leak.

Enjoy your time in the holding bay !

If you remove the 4 bolts on each valve they will come apart and then just replace the valves. I would not mess with the hubs that go into the tanks. To install a third valve just cut the 3 inch abs pipe on the outside of the panel in the wet bay and get the fittings that you need and a 3 inch Valterra valve.
