Hello all,
New owners of a 2013 IH-45. First trip noticed that low beams not working at all. The dash switch lights up when turned on but no lights. Checked the 15amp fuse in the chassis fuse block and it is good. The high beams and fog lights work.
Any suggestions on where to look next? Thanks
Did you check the bulbs? Rare that both would be out, but it is possible. Next would be the high/low beam switch or relay, or whatever that coach uses. Likely relay if the high beams are operated off the Smart Wheel. There may also be a resistor or other wiring for daytime running lamps.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have not specifically checked the bulbs (haven't removed them and hooked to a separate power souirce) but both did work fine during a walk thru before taking delivery. By the way, these are projector lamps. I will try to find a relay or switch somewhere.... Not sure how the DRL's work.
Forgot not conventional headlights. Similar to my 08 Nimbus. Would also look for a missing ground. These things are a bit complicated. I would not expect a single fuse to take out both sides.
Do you have the coach schematics? Look for the 12V wiring diagram that shows the dash relays, likely drawing B-2179. In an older coach, in the upper left quadrant it shows connections to headlights via an 8-pin device and "see drawing A-6277", which is the SmartWheel drawing in that era coach. Look for something similar in your schematics.
