Title: Securing the Engine Bay Heater Hose
Post by: steve on October 18, 2024, 08:20:23 pm
Could someone share a photo of how the heater hose is secured across the back of their coach?

Prior to purchase these sections of heater hose were replaced, I believe they come from the lower radiator and surge tank and route over to the water pump.

As they cross the rear of the coach they are "secured" to the frame with some lite weight zip ties.  I can see a broken rolok bolt so I guess there was a center clamp at one point.  Also seems like there is some extra length in these hoses that needs to be trimmed.

Thanks for the help.

I can get you some in the A/M after sun up. You are missing a big clamp that goes around the hoses. I have made new ones (hose mounting brackets) out of plumbers tape. (the metal kind with little holes punched in it) You may have to drill new holes in that crossmember. If you don't get that up out of the line of fire something will either drag them off or hit them and cut a hole in one or the other.

First is looking from the drivers side to the passengers side. Second is the other way. What you cant get a pic. of is there is another bracket that is on the passengers side just as they turn down to run across the crossmember. If you look real close you can see that the strap/bracket is connected to the crossmember where the rolock has broken off on yours. You can see that these are up behind and somewhat protected with the steel line in front of it.

Thanks Mike, seeing the picture helps a lot.

I'm going to see if that Rolok stub will come out if I double nut it, just so I don't have to drill a new hole.  I'll also look for the passenger side bracket.

My arrangement is the same.  One big "P" clamp and the other photo shows it going up through the rear hitch subframe support with a peice of rubber protecting the hoses.
