Title: Docking lights stopped working
Post by: Safari360 on November 11, 2024, 03:02:18 pm
Hi all,

My docking lights worked fine a few months ago when I bought the coach (2002 U295 3620). Now neither side will go on.  The lights on the left docking light switch illuminates, but the right does not. It could be that the right switch light is out or something, but it seems to have power to the switches. It seems that there are two different relays for left and right so made me doubt that could be the problem (just the odds).  There is a switch over the bed that doesn't do anything either, but previously worked.

I'd like to get them working.  Very helpful for parking in tight spaces during the darker months.  Thanks!

Looking at the schematics for a 2000 and 2003 U320, those 2 docking light relays share a ground wire.  271 GN (wire number 271, color green).  Check that connection.

Dave,

Those relays are hid behind the removable kick panel in front of the passengers seat. On those years seems like they are hid on the right hand side of the panel.  With it effecting both sides the common factor is the ground like Michelle suggested.

Our round '93 docking lights tripped the relay as they draw a lot of juice. I changed over to LEDs with a fraction of the amps needed. See if you can find LED docking lights in the same shape as yours. If they are round, it's easy to find them.
