Title: Automatic transfer switch and auto line/generator switch
Post by: Gold Nugget finder on November 11, 2024, 04:40:09 pm
Hey All

I'm curious because I found a green wire hanging loose coming from my lyght  power systems automatic transfer switch box. It looks like it was once hooked up. I'm assuming it came out of my breaker panel, but I'm not sure.
Also, can anyone explain to me why we have a lyght power system automatic  transfer switch and a model ATS 100 automatic line/generator switch and how they work?

Thanks

There will be one transfer switch with inputs from generator and shore cord, output to main breaker panel.  There will be a second transfer switch with input from shore panel and inverter with output to sub-panel.  Only those circuits on the sub-panel will have power if the only active power source is your inverter (and it is on.)

In the following schematics they are Switching Relay #1 and Switching Relay #2

On mine, each of the transfer switch boxes has a green ground wire connected to the box.  Your second box is a replacement.
