Hey guys,
so, I noticed hub bearing oil inside my rear passenger inner rim. I suspect it's the axle seal. I did find a few posts on here of guys fixing this issue, but I didn't find any part numbers... Do you guys happen to have any part numbers? I suspect there's an inner and an outer seal or gasket?
I'm in Las Vegas right now. Anyone has any shop recommendations?
Cheers,
Matt
Got the job done today by a mobile mechanic here in Las Vegas. Just throwing the following details out there for whoever is looking at a similar issue:
Foretravel installed a Rockwell/Meritor drive axle on the Unicoaches. The axle part/type number is R21-145.
Driver "L" side:
Oil seal - wheel end: A-1205-W-1349
inner wheel bearing cone: 47686
inner wheel bearing cup: 47620
outer wheel bearing cone: 39520
outer wheel bearing cup: 39590
Passenger "R" side:
Oil seal - wheel end: A-1205-Q2487
inner wheel bearing cone: 594A
inner wheel bearing cup: 592A
outer wheel bearing cone: 572
outer wheel bearing cup: 580
The wheel bearings can (and should) be bought as matching sets of bearing (cone) and liner/racer (cup). For example, for the passenger side I got Automann set no. 401 and set no. 403.
It makes sense to order these parts online (e.g. finditparts), I learned today that they cost almost double as much when bought off the shelf.
I was charged 4 working hours for replacing the wheel seal and the bearings at a rate of 150 per hour.
That is some great information to have. Thanks for going the extra mile to document all of those part numbers.
