Post by: bbeane on November 23, 2024, 11:00:19 am
Anyone adjusted the valves on the Isuzu motor on your generator? If so were you able to reuse the old gasket?

Thanks, mine appears to be black, likely never been off. Installing a new generator end, might as well do the whole deal

do you recall what the valve clearance is? In looking a the internet I see several specs .o20 mm .008in, and .040mm .016 in. I reset all to .008in none where out over .002in. There are 2 Isuzu engine manuals in the media section. One says .020 the other says .040. I'm not sure which spec to use. So what say the jury.020 or .040?

Call a couple of Isuzu engine dealers/ service shops .020 mm .008 in seems to the the correct setting. Adjustment done new generator head about installed.

Bruce,

How far out of spec where the valves-- all loose or some tight?

And, at how many hours?

a couple where maybe.010 in the rest where a loose or snug 008. That what makes me think .008 is the correct spec. 2300 hours. In short nothing out far enough to be concerned with.
